Teach children and young people aged 2 19 with a range of complex needs including PMLD sensory impairments physical disabilities autism and behaviours of concern
Deliver a highly individualised multi-sensory curriculum in a small supportive class setting
Use specialist strategies such as TEACCH PECS Attention Autism Intensive Interaction and sensory integration techniques
Work collaboratively with therapists families and multi-agency professionals to deliver impactful pupil-centred support
Build nurturing relationships that empower learners and promote both personal and academic growth
Adapt teaching and assessment to support a wide range of learning profiles
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) applications from ECTs welcome!
Solid understanding of child development and experience supporting learners with complex needs
Confident working with Multi-Sensory Impairments (MSI) autism medical needs and behaviours of concern
Creative flexible and enthusiastic able to think outside the box to engage every learner

Education
Postgraduate qualification or accredited training in SEND (e.g. National Award for SEN Coordination, Autism Education Trust, dyslexia/SpLD or SEMH specialism). Proficiency in alternative/augmentative communication methods Makaton, PECS, AAC devices. Experience using evidence-based interventions such as TEACCH, SCERTS, or Positive Behaviour Support. Training in Team-Teach, MAPA or similar de-escalation and safe-handling approaches. Competence with assistive ed-tech tools and adaptive software
