Job Description

REPORTS TO: Principals/Director of Curriculum Instruction and AssessmentJOB MISSION:Responsible for providing targeted job embedded support to strengthen instruction across our elementary classrooms including coaching and modeling effective instructional strategies; and collaborating with teachers and administration to help all students reach their highest DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be SKILLS AND a deep conceptual understanding of Massachusetts Curriculum an understanding of Multi Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) data-based problem-solving skills effective collaboration skills including collaborative dialogue with teachers at all levels of knowledge and experience in a effective coaching skills to help district educators improve professional practice 6. Understand effective strategies for differentiating instruction7. Communicate effectively in written and oral form using positive interpersonal skills8. Listen skillfully employ problem-solving strategies and build strong relationships with and model gradual release of in workshops seminars conferences and/or advanced coursework which further advance knowledge of current trends in curriculum and instructionPERFORMANCE effective instruction professional learning in the context of the classroom on a daily basis3. Support MTSS Teams Leadership Teams and other school-based groups as they identify and explore effective instruction and teachers uncover areas of strength and growth teachers with planning sequencing and scaffolding of high expectations for all students and with teachers individually in collaborative teams and larger groups to provide practical support on a full range of instructional and provide feedback to teachers on instruction the highest level of confidentiality with colleaguesProfessional in district-level meetings 2. Assist in the planning and facilitation of district or school level professional development professional growth and strengthen professional knowledge skills and strategies through workshops seminars conferences and/or advanced course a collection of professional resources related to instruction5 Encourage life-long learning6. Attend and participate in all relevant meetings committees and trainingsOther1. Perform other duties as assignedEVALUATION:Consistent with current Agreement Between the Longmeadow School Committee and the Longmeadow Education OF EMPLOYMENT:Salary and work year in accordance with current Longmeadow Educators Association (Unit A) and Longmeadow School Committee AgreementSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:NONE
