Middle School Spanish Teacher

St. Mary Academy Bay View seeks a full-time Middle School Spanish teacher for the 2025-26 school year. The candidate must inspire and model a love for culture and language. For 150 years Bay View has empowered each student to be a confident independent compassionate and socially conscious faith-filled young responsibilities for this position include:-Serve as Spanish teacher for middle school classes-Develop all four modalities into instruction: reading writing speaking and listening-Employ high-quality student-centered instruction using evidence-based practices to support all learners growth in Spanish language acquisition-Assess students skills and knowledge to refine classroom practices and provide feedback to students parents and administration regarding students progress expectations and goals-Create rich learning environment that engages students develops their understanding celebrates the cultures in Spanish speaking countries and cultivates an appreciation of why multilingualism is a critical 21st century skill-Integrate instructional and recordkeeping strategies using Google Suite and/or other appropriate technology-Create instructional programming that promotes the academic social-emotional and spiritual growth of students in an all-girls school.-Be flexible open-minded and a self-driven team member-Serve as an advisor collaborate with a team of teachers on extracurricular programming and provide faculty support to a club or activityQualifications for this position are:-Strong understanding of adolescent development including the social emotional and intellectual domains-Creative imaginative and possess a growth-mindset in teaching coaching and curricular design-BA/BS degree in Spanish education or related field Masters degree preferred-Knowledge and experience teaching a rigorous Spanish curriculum in order to prepare students to enter grade 9 at Spanish 2 or above.-High energy level creative and forward-thinking-Strong work ethic and a caring temperament-Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks-Outstanding written and verbal communication skills-Collaborative skills including the ability to work with colleagues and parents-A sense of humor warmth anda love of working with students and their familiesBenefits:St. Mary Academy Bay View offers medical insurance an Employee Assistance Program group retirement plan and tuition remission for daughters as well as paid vacation personal sick and holiday Apply:Visit and download the Teaching Application.
