Job Description

Exchanging accurate data is critical to the logistics industry. For Expeditors to excel at managing the complex logistics needs of our clients we are required to provide them detailed information about the location and content of freight.

Systems Analyst II is a mid-level career opportunity. This role in the Connected Customer Group directly impacts our ability to gain new business and to form lasting bonds with our clients by integrating with their supply chain to provide visibility to inventory in transit. 

Systems Analysts in the Connected Customer Group implement EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) integrations for Expeditors customers and third parties. This consists of analyzing client EDI specifications analyzing business requirements describing how they will provide data understanding how that information will be used in the context of our business and proprietary systems collaborating with clients and third parties and distilling it into a mapping document used by developers to create the code that translates the data. Systems Analysts also create and execute project test plans and write appropriate project-related reference material for end users and account team members.

This is a fast-paced collaborative and multi-faceted position that requires you to be able to manage and drive multiple projects in multiple states.

Successful Systems Analysts are strong in the following skill sets: business analysis project management technical acumen communication (both written and verbal) organization and team collaboration.

This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Qualifications :

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 years experience implementing electronic data integration between client and external parties with knowledge of full project life cycle.
  • 4 years experience in working with customers on requirements gathering business requirement documentation technical writing and testing.
  • ANSII EDIFACT knowledge and experience is required
  • Understanding relational databases
  • Excellent analytical skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience leading projects with multiple dependencies and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership of work
  • Understanding of database structures data files and data relationships 
  • Strong problem-solving skills

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in transportation/logistics industry
  • Experienced in leading technical conversations
  • Experience in integrating with third party EDI Service Provider
  • Ability to design solutions to meet the clients business and technical needs
  • Technical leadership
  • Strong customer facing skills
  • BA/BS in Business Administration MIS or related degree
  • Experience with SQL
  • API knowledge
  • General knowledge in data communication protocol (eg AS2 VAN SFTP SSH FTP HTTP HTTP/s)

Additional Information :

Expected base salary:  $85000 to $130000
