What You Will Do:

The Data and Evaluation Coordinator works with the Director of Program Design and Evaluation to support evaluation work data management and special project initiatives of the center.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Evaluation Efforts: Works with Director of Program Design and Evaluation to assist in the design implementation project management literature review and data analysis for quantitative and qualitative evaluation studies and special projects. Collaborate to produce Research Briefs internal and external evaluations and impact reports. Supports efforts to secure funding for programmatic and research activities related to special initiatives.
  • Data Coordination: Assists various teams across the McCormick Institute for Early Childhood (MIEC) and Center for Early Childhood Leadership (CECL) with data collection efforts including survey creation and updating online survey response monitoring downloading data and sharing raw and aggregate data back to teams. Works with data collection systems and ensures consistent archival of data across all projects and adherence to timelines. Collaborates with NLUs Strategic Data Center as appropriate.
  • ARPS: Coordinates ARPS-Center Based data collection and data management coding and profile generation. Works in Alchemer to generate links for ARPS data collection run syntax (Python and SQL) and works in Excel and SPSS to generate individual and aggregate ARPS profiles. Work with the team to develop an APRS-HB profile including creating visualizations of data and generating the syntax needed to automate profiles.
  • Database and Dataset Management: Enters downloads cleans and provides data visualizations and analysis and generates reports and profiles for grant funders year-end reports impact reports Research Briefs and other reports as needed. Maintains the training grid and other center-wide data collected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Statistics mathematics machine learning or a social science with a specialization in monitoring and evaluation or data science Masters Degree preferred. Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education Educational Leadership or related field is acceptable providing there is significant experience in data coordination program evaluation and/or statistical management.
  • Certified Monitoring and Evaluation Professional (CMEP) or Certified Professional Statistician (PStat) data visualization preferred.
  • Three (3) years demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience with data visualization programming/code/syntax in various languages and platforms (e.g. R SQL Python SPSS) specifically when driving program evaluation efforts.
  • Three (3) years demonstrated experience in data management preferably in educational settings working across teams and with various technologies
  • Three (3) years demonstrated experience using quantitative statistics in program evaluation and data-informed practices
  • Three (3) years demonstrated experience using various statistical programs (e.g. SPSS R SAS)
  • Three (3) years demonstrate experience managing various data sets databases and data collection systems.
  • Three (3) years demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Education settings.
  • Three (3) years demonstrated experience working in Education settings using data evaluating programs and/or providing statistical analysis with regard to educational programming.

Implementing New Technologies: Tends to identify and apply the steps and approaches needed to implement and integrate new technology in a manner that gains quick acceptance from stakeholders while minimizing disruptions to day-to-day work requirements.

Work environment/Physical Demands/Travel Requirements:

Typical office environment including computer work phone calls and organizing and storing both hard and electronic data. In addition working conditions may include some travel to attend and present at events which involves carrying of luggage and event materials. This position is based in Lisle and is a hybrid work environment (2/3 days in office 2/3 days remote). The first six months of employment require 5 days per week in office.

The salary range of the grade for this position is $50453.00 to $73157.00 annually. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. Offers are based on multiple factors permitted by law including but not limited to: budgetary considerations job-related knowledge/skills experience market considerations tenure and standing with the university (applicable to current employees) and internal equity.
