Job Description
Job Title: Training Manager
Civil Service Title/License: School Food Service Manager
Organization: Office of Food and Nutrition Services (OFNS)
Office/Location: OFNS / District 17 International High School at Prospect Heights
Position Summary: The Office of Food and Nutrition Services is committed to promoting healthy food choices among our students and maintaining high nutritional standards while offering delicious healthy and satisfying menu choices. The Training Department is dedicated to identifying the training needs of the organization as well as creating professional development and training modules focused and aligned with improving program efficiencies and customer responsiveness. A Training Manager will supervise a school site(s) that feeds NYC students and is also dedicated to training.
Report To: Associate School Food Service Manager with an indirect report to the Director of Training and Staff Development
Direct Reports: OFNS staff in school / location as well as OFNS employees being trained.
Key Relationships: Relationships will be fostered with Principals School Administration OFNS Administration as well as the Training and Staff Development director and Training Developers.
Responsibilities
- Uphold OFNS goals and standards of professionalism while conducting training programs modules and presentations created for but not limited to new hire hourly annual employees and targeted audiences as determined.
- Training programs modules and presentations include but are not limited to kitchen operation guidelines meal preparation equipment safety and sanitation.
- Retrain and assist with developing the skill sets specific to the employees needs - hourly and annual staff.
- Maintain model training schools and key interactions with the Training Department training schools efficiently deliver our mission in an environment that reflects the highest standards of foodservice operations and is conducive to learning.
- Ability to travel across NYC boroughs and Community School Districts when needed.
Qualification Requirements:
Minimum
The position is available to all School Food Service Managers.
Preferred:
- Strong foodservice management experience.
- Self-motivated highly organized proactive detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
