Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the housekeeping department ensuring cleanliness and guest satisfaction in a variety of settings. Managing staff budgets inventory and operational procedures to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.

Essential Functions:

  • Managing departmental expenses controlling costs and developing budgets
  • Hiring training scheduling and supervising housekeeping managers and team members
  • Assure all staff maintain quality/performance standards in all areas
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed
  • Ensure guest and owner requests receive the highest priority
  • Conduct daily line-ups
  • Assure the timely completion of guest rooms daily
  • Managing monthly inventories and ordering supplies as needed
  • Reviewing daily labor and revenue reports
  • Inspect guest rooms daily to ensure compliance with FORBES and Stein standards
  • Prepare daily and turn down housekeeping assignments
  • Inspect all units for deficiencies report engineering items and follow up to ensure proper completion of repairs
  • Oversee the management of lost and found items
  • Timely completion of manager and team member reviews
  • Performing disciplinary action and coaching as needed
  • Follow up with guest/owner concerns
  • Maintain effective communication with the corporate director other department managers and the front office team.
  • Attend meetings as scheduled.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Handle special projects as assigned
  • Review new products and test for effectiveness
  • Ensure the security of all housekeeping areas during and at the close of the shift
  • Any other duties as assigned

Education Experience and Skills Required:

High School diploma or equivalent

College-level courses or related job experience

Three to five years in hotel front or back of house

Equipment Used:

Computer

Microsoft Office

Hotel-related software programs

Cleaning equipment

Laundry equipment
