Job Description

  • Employment Type: Full-Time (35-hour week)
  • Duration: Continuing Role
  • Remuneration: Level 5 from $85k ( 17% superannuation and leave loading)
  • Location: Kensington NSW (Hybrid Flexible Working)

Why your role matters

Were looking for a Scholarships Officer to join our team at UNSW where youll play a key role in delivering a wide range of scholarship programs. This includes equity and merit-based scholarships faculty and externally funded opportunities and support for international students. In this role youll be involved in every stage of the scholarship lifecycle helping to ensure it runs smoothly efficiently and in full compliance with University policies.

Beyond scholarships youll also contribute to the administration of student-focused financial initiatives playing an important part in the broader student support services offered by UNSW. Working closely with senior staff youll provide day-to-day operational support across several portfolios always maintaining a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service to both students and stakeholders.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Provide operational support and administration across a broad range of scholarship types and funding sources including internal external government and philanthropic programs.
  • Assist with the end-to-end administration of scholarship processes including advertising application intake eligibility checks assessment coordination and payment processing along with progression requirements.
  • Support the preparation of reports data extracts and documentation for internal and external use.
  • Contribute to the testing and implementation of system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Support the administration of other student-focused financial initiatives contributing to the broader delivery of student support.
  • Participate in scholarship-related events and activities including information sessions awards ceremonies and outreach activities.

About You:

  • A relevant degree with some experience or an equivalent combination of education training and work experience.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with sound organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suits products and the ability to learn and use University systems and record keeping platforms.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team ideally in a higher education setting.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when completing tasks and whilst working with data.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and apply guidelines and provide feedback for process improvements.
  • Willingness to take initiative within defined responsibilities and contribute to team activities.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities in a busy work environment
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSWs aims objectives and values in action together with relevant policies and guidelines.
