Job Description

The Lynn Public Schools is looking for a full-time clerk steno floater to work in variousclerical positions across the district.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong typing/computer skills
    • document formatting
    • abilityto enter/update/extract information using databases
    • ability to organize file and use shared electronic files
  • Ability to multitask in a busy office environment
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Strongdesireto workin an organization serving the needs of studentsin an urban setting
  • Ability to work effectively with teachers support staff and parents and advocate for childrenin order toeffectively problem solve
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders

PERFORMANCERESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs a variety of clerical activities related to the functions of assigned school office and/orCentral Administration.

  • Greet public receives visitors in school office/departments and follows the proper protocol in allowing access to the building.
  • Answer telephones takes messages and refers callers toappropriatestaff members.
  • Open sort and route incoming US and school mail and prepares outgoing mail.
  • Schedules appointments.
  • Prepares memos correspondence and/or reports from handwritten copy notes or verbal direction.
  • Requisition for textbooks school supplies equipment; other school-related forms.
  • Monitors and responds to radio communications.
  • Prepare weekly payroll ofpersonnel.
  • Keeps up-to-date enrollment data;maintainpupil andpersonnelfiles.
  • Maintains thePowerschoolstudent database.
  • Maintains accurate student and staff attendance.
  • Provide teachers with all necessary data and forms.
  • Perform all other general duties as indicated by the Principaloradministrator.
