Job Description

Position Summary:

The Articulation Coordinator reporting to the Director of Admissions is responsible for supporting the recruitment admission and enrollment of entering undergraduate students with prior college credit including transfer students re-admit military personnel and international students. This role involves facilitating the formal evaluation of academic transcripts prior learning and other credentials. The Coordinator articulates and awards credit reviews and decides on domestic applications in accordance with institutional policies. They serve as the primary point of contact with school directors department chairs and faculty when determining transferability and applicability of credit in specific majors. As the department expert on transfer and articulation this position maintains current knowledge of various state and national transfer agencies policies procedures guidelines (i.e. ACE CLEP DSST etc.).

Specific Job Duties (Essential Functions and Responsibilities):

  • Serves as the Office of Admissions expert on transferability and awarding of credit based on credits submitted for transfer consideration prior learning (PLA) work experience portfolio etc.

  • As part of the Admissions team ensures that the University complies with the State Policy on Transfer and adheres to all current guaranteed admission or articulation agreements.

  • Serves as a member of the internal quality assurance team to help ensure data and record integrity related to enrollment credentials.

  • Utilizes online degree analysis tools to determine eligibility for coursework completed at other higher education institutions.

  • Maintains and continually reviews Adams State Universitys transfer equivalency database.

  • Articulates credits earned elsewhere and posts them to the students academic record.

  • Runs reports to identify potential duplicate credit reconciles these instances and notifies students accordingly.

  • Develops and maintains positive and professional customer service and relations within the office and with all constituents across campus. Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude and treats everyone with dignity and respect supporting the Student First value at Adams State University.

  • Participates in cross-training initiatives to develop a general knowledge base of University and office functions to better guide and refer customers.

  • Recommends and assists in the development of policies and procedures related to international student enrollment transfer admissions State Policy on Transfer Advanced Placement International Baccalaureate and transfer equivalency tables.

  • Collaborates with the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs and the university Registrar on Statewide transfer articulation agreements (STAAs) transfer articulation agreements and degree maps with specific institutions of higher education and the Bridge to Bachelors program.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure the success of the department

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline

  • One or more years of relevant technical or administrative experience in an educational setting preferably in an area responsible for the evaluation and awarding of credit

  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external constituencies.

  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to recruiting events including occasional evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree and three or more years of relevant educational experience.

  • Proficiency in a wide range of computer applications including word processing spreadsheets and databases with the ability to adapt to new technologies and systems

  • Experience using student information systems (e.g. Ellucian Banner Workday Student PeopleSoft).

  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g. Radius Recruiter TargetX Slate Salesforce).

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

The salary range for this position is $38412-$43692.
