Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Risk Officer to provide risk management consulting services and develop an effective risk management program for our client organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COSO and ISO 31000 risk management methodologies as well as demonstrated experience in designing and launching innovative risk management programs. This candidate will be responsible for benchmarking our organization against similar organizations identifying and documenting gaps in internal control efforts and facilitating conversations around risk with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and launch a comprehensive risk management program that combines existing and innovative risk management practices.
- Provide clear explanations of risk management benefits to clients and stakeholders.
- Facilitate conversations around the topic of risk management with key stakeholders.
- Be proficient in COSO and ISO 31000 Risk Management methodologies.
- Benchmark our organization against similar organizations and provide an overview of findings.
- Identify examine and document current internal control efforts and processes and identify potential gaps.
- Outline high-risk areas by significance within a Risk Register and draft mitigation plans for these areas.
- Determine appropriate policies and procedures to manage a risk management program.
- Provide training skills and knowledge transfer to help build a common understanding of risk management.
- Facilitate workshops with the Executive Team to ensure the organization is aware of the right risks and mitigating risk where appropriate.
- Recommend a risk management structure tailored to our organizations needs.
Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience at the Chief Risk Officer/ Risk Director level with certification preferred.
- Proven ability to design and implement risk management programs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in familiar terms.
- Strong understanding of COSO and ISO 31000 Risk Management methodologies
- Experience in conducting workshops and training sessions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with various stakeholders including the Executive Team.
- Knowledge of benchmarking risk register development and mitigation planning.
