Job Description
We are seeking a Functional Safety Engineer (FuSa) with experience in electronic design to join our team. As a FuSa Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest safety standards by developing functional safety work products and requirements as related to electronic modules associated with automated and autonomous driving.
Responsibilities
What you will be able to do:
Create safety requirements concepts and documentation to ensure electronic modules comply with ISO 26262 especially Part 5 (Product development at the hardware level).
Verify that automated and autonomous driving systems meet the highest safety standards through compliance with relevant functional safety regulations.
Use methods such as: FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) DFA (Design Failure Analysis) FMEDA (Failure Modes Effects and Diagnostic Analysis)
Apply electronic design principles to evaluate and support the design of hardware components in the context of safety goals.
Work with hardware software and systems engineering teams to develop and integrate safety requirements and verify functional safety throughout the product lifecycle.
Develop review and manage hardware and software safety requirements and interface definitions
Support product release processes including verification and validation of functional safety requirements.
Clearly articulate safety concerns solutions and documentation with both technical teams and management.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications
Youll have
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related field
3 5 years of experience in Functional Safety and product development
Solid understanding of ISO26262 with an emphasis on part 5 of the standard and its application to electronic systems
Experience with safety analysis methods such as DFA FMEA FTA and FMEDA
2 3 years of electronic design principles and practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Visa sponsorship is available for this position; however you must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Even better you may have
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related field
Understanding of major automotive vehicle systems such as Advanced Driver-Assistance (ADAS) Motion Control Automotive Network and Powertrain
Experience in writing and comprehending software and hardware requirements and interfaces
Experience in the automotive product release and specification process
