Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all Novelis safety and quality policies and procedures
- Ability to function and be successful in a collaborative and cross functional team based environment
- Perform quality inspections and routine checks on all equipment and immediately reports any possible malfunctions or defects
- Material Handling
- Forklift Crane Machine Casting and Mill Operation
- Operate highly precision based lab equipment
- Perform operator-based PMs on equipment
- Utilize critical thinking skills to problem solve through problems as they arise within in the production process
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and perform housekeeping duties around machine center as needed
- Monitor machine equipment and processes
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Experience working in an environment where critical thinking and problem-solving is required
- Experience utilizing various computer programs including Microsoft office equipment HMIs and other various Novelis systems
- Ability to monitor machine equipment and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Industrial equipment operation experience
- Maintenance experience
- Good communication skills
- Leadership ability

For this role the pay is from $20.15 USD / hour. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications experience and performance
Location Profile
Novelis Oswego is located in northern Central New York on the shores of Lake Ontario and employs approximately 1200 people. The Oswego plant produces more than one billion pounds of high-quality aluminum sheet each year serving customers in the automotive beverage can and specialty markets. In addition to its downtown shopping and dining district Oswego and the surrounding areas are renowned for fishing hiking snowmobiling and outdoor recreation across all four seasons.
