We have an immediate full time opening for an experienced skilled dedicated hardworking multitasking and organized Certified Medical Assistant with phlebotomy experience.
The ideal candidate will handle both front and back office duties.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Obtain and record patients medical history vital signs including but not limited to blood pressure temperature pulse respiration height weight drug allergies and current medications.
- Ensures exam rooms are clean stocked and appropriately and regularly set up prior to rooming patients
- Records information in patients Electronic Medical Record
- Assists clinician with effective patient care delivery
- Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Perform point of care basic waived testing technical procedures on blood samples and completes required quality control
- Process and transmits requisition forms to lab and imaging companies
- Handles inventories and orders and replenishes medical supplies and materials
- Perform vary administrative duties such as welcoming patients answering telephones updating practice management application handling correspondence scheduling appointments coordinating with other specialists billing and bookkeeping as required by clinic
- Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors in person or over the phone
- Signs up new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information
- Answers phone calls route calls or take messages while maintaining a polite professional consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
- Accurately and efficiently check in/ check out patients
- Responds to inquiries by patients prospective patients and visitors in a courteous manner
- Maintain all HIPAA OSHA and other relevant standards
- Participate in internal/ external marketing and informative events as determined by business needs
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
* 2 YEARS MEDICAL ASSISTANT EXPERIENCE IN FAMILY PRACTICE (ADULT & CHILDREN) PREFERRED *
QualificationsQualifications and Skills:
- Vital signs
- Rooming patients
- Ability to perform EKGs
- Blood draw and injections administering are essentials
- Demonstrated knowledge of examination diagnostic and treatment room procedures
- Excellent customer service skills
- Possesses a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
- Effective oral and written communication skills to patients and staff
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
- Maintains a positive caring attitude towards patients
- Excellent computer skills
- Proficient in using EMR and other medical management applications
- Marketing skills
* 2 YEARS MEDICAL ASSISTANT EXPERIENCE IN FAMILY PRACTICE (ADULT & CHILDREN) PREFERRED *Required education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
