Position: Summer Reading Interventionist Instructor

Location: Elementary Building TBD

Effective Date: 8.4.25-8.22.25

Job Summary

The Summer Reading Intervention Instructor will provide targeted small-group reading instruction to elementary students in need of additional support. Instruction will be based on Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) data collected during the previous school year. The purpose is to accelerate reading growth and support foundational literacy skills through evidence-based instructional strategies.

This position will run for 3 weeks during the summer with sessions held twice per week for 2 hours each totaling 6 two-hour sessions. Scheduling may vary by school based on student need.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and PA Elementary Instructional Certification required.
  • Knowledge of foundational reading skills phonics fluency and comprehension strategies.
  • Experience delivering structured literacy or reading intervention programs such as UFLI Sonday System IMSE (Orton-Gillingham) HMH Into Reading/Intervention or similar research-based approaches.
  • Reading Specialist Certification preferred.

Compensation: $41.86 per hour as per the PEA agreement
