Job Description

Virtual Program Instructor (Evenings/Weekends Mountain/Pacific Time Zones)

Part-Time 20 Hours a week

Founded in 2003 GiGis Playhouse Inc.s mission is to change the way the world views Down syndrome and send a global message of acceptance for all. This is accomplished through national campaigns purposeful programs and by empowering individuals with Down syndrome their families and the community. All programs are free and are therapeutic or educational in nature. Each one of our programs is designed to work on specific skill development including speech and language literacy socialization and fine and gross motor skills. GiGis Playhouse currently has over 61 locations across North America and is growing by several locations annually.

Position Summary:
GiGis Playhouse is seeking a dynamic reliable and enthusiastic Virtual Program Instructor to lead and deliver established curriculum-based group programs across various age ranges. This role is part of our National Virtual Programming team and will focus on evening and weekend programming for families in the Mountain and Pacific time zones. The instructor will not be responsible for designing content but will instead bring our existing program materials to life through engaging and consistent facilitation in a virtual environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Deliver assigned GiGis group programs (e.g. GiGis Kitchen GiGiFIT LMNOP Destination Discovery Games with Friends Fantastic Friends and Teen Tastic) using provided curriculum through GiGis Virtual Playhouse platform.

  • Facilitate interactive inclusive and developmentally appropriate sessions for individuals with Down syndrome across age groups.

  • Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for families volunteers and participants.

  • Ensure timely and accurate attendance tracking session logging and post-program data entry in Salesforce.

  • Maintain a clean and organized home space for program delivery including a functional kitchen area for GiGis Kitchen and open space for movement-based sessions.

  • Communicate effectively with the National Program Team and follow all session planning and reporting procedures.

  • Attend weekly team meetings and check-ins to ensure alignment with GiGis Playhouse program standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.

  • Background in education recreation therapy or a related field is a plus.

  • Strong facilitation and communication skills in a virtual learning environment.

  • Comfort and confidence in delivering pre-designed content and following lesson plans.

  • High-speed internet and access to reliable technology suitable for live virtual instruction.

  • Access to a clean and appropriate home setup for cooking and movement-based classes.

  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of leading GiGiFIT and other movement-based classes including demonstrating exercises and maintaining energy throughout the session.

  • Availability to consistently work weekday evenings and weekends in Mountain or Pacific time zones.

  • Ability to navigate GiGis virtual platform and complete data entry in Salesforce (training provided).

Preferred:

  • Located near a GiGis Playhouse location to allow for occasional in-person training or community engagement opportunities.

  • Prior experience facilitating programs in a virtual or educational setting.

  • Familiarity with GiGis Playhouse programs mission or curriculum.

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.

These events are integral to fostering collaboration advancing our mission and supporting organizational success.
