Job Summary:This position supervises student behavior in high school parking lots and other areas where students congregate before during and after school; manages vehicle registration for student parking on campus; and shares the responsibility for campus safety and security for students and staff with support from administrators other school staff and NSD District Safety and Security Staff or designees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the building Principal and/or Administrator
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a school setting. May experience frequent task interruptions; required to work outdoors in inclement weather; work with students with diverse needs and cultural backgrounds. May assist with distraught individuals including staff and students. Position requires standing or walking for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally may be asked to work beyond normal hours to supervise parking areas during special events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
High school graduation or equivalent. Prior successful experience working with secondary school-age students is desirable. Previous security work preferred. De-escalation training first aid
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Requires firmness punctuality tact good judgment and the ability to resolve conflicts. Requires effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to manage student behavior consistent with District and school discipline policies and procedures. Ability to interact effectively with high school age students in a warm confident manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff and the public. Ability to work cooperatively with staff and enjoy interacting with students. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to operate computers and learn specific software applications. Ability to operate communications equipment in a professional manner.
Licenses/Special Requirements
CPI Training for security and CPR and First Aid certifications. Training will be provided by the school district.
SALARYSalary is based upon the current2024-25 ESP Salary Schedule Salary(Level II) until the 2025-26 salary schedule is released; placement on the salary schedule will be determined by Human Resources DOE. FLSA Non-Exempt.
Work Year:8.0 hours per day192 days per year.
