Position: Director of Sales (or Sales Manager)

Current Surf Lodge is a small hotel with a big sense of place designed for creative travelers surf aficionados and memory-making families. Steps from the waves and rhythm of Atlantic Park we bring together surf sound and soul. Our vibe is elevated but effortless - where great coffee good music and a community spirit matter as much as revenue goals.

The Role

You wont find a lot of corporate jargon here. Were looking for someone who knows the art of selling but can do it in a way that feels neighborly creative and natural. Someone who doesnt mind trading a suit for well-worn sneakers but who understands what it takes to drive results.

As Director of Sales (or Sales Manager depending on experience) youll be the face and the energy behind our sales effort. Youll connect with local businesses creative agencies surf and music communities event planners and cultural connectors to build relationships that drive bookings - both individual and group.

Youll work closely with the GM and small leadership team to shape our positioning open new markets and keep the lodge buzzing - always in rhythm with our brand and our guests.


What Youll Do

  • Build authentic relationships with local regional and national partners that align with our brand ethos.
  • Generate and convert leads across key segments: leisure lifestyle group corporate and creative events.
  • Lead outreach to agencies brands and affinity groups wholl love what were building.
  • Collaborate with marketing to craft campaigns that resonate with our audiences.
  • Manage inventory rate strategies and forecasting - with creativity and data in balance.
  • Represent the property at community events trade shows and networking gatherings (with personality not pretense).
  • Monitor trends in hospitality surf music and culture - staying one step ahead.
  • Cultivate long-term loyalty - guests return again and again when they feel connected.
  • Keep sales reporting on point and aligned with business goals - yes theres still some Excel involved.
  • Partner with our GM and ownership on brand evolution programming and guest experience strategy.
  • Help shape the vibe - through presence positivity and passion for hospitality.

Who You Are

  • 3-5 years in hotel sales or lifestyle sales (Director or Manager level depending on experience).
  • Natural relationship builder - authentic warm confident.
  • Strong knowledge of the local market and drive-to leisure markets.
  • A good ear - you listen learn and lead with curiosity.
  • Effective communicator - written and verbal.
  • Creative and resourceful - you see opportunity not obstacles.
  • Comfortable with systems - revenue management reporting CRM Office tools etc.
  • Flexible adaptable - you know boutique hotels are hands-on never cookie-cutter.
  • Understands the rhythm of hospitality - including weekends and events.
  • Reliable transportation and valid license required for local outreach.

The Fine Print

This is a full-time salaried position based in Virginia Beach. Some weekends evenings and offsite work required - because sales isnt 9 to 5 and neither is great hospitality.
