Were looking for a passionate and committed Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team in Chorley.
Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team and reporting to the Team Manager youll play a key role in supporting children and families to build on their strengths overcome challenges and achieve lasting positive change.
Youll carry out meaningful assessments develop child-centred plans and work directly with families to promote safety resilience and wellbeing. Youll also contribute to reflective group supervision and ensure all work is recorded clearly and analytically on LCS.
The role may be required to work evenings weekends and occasional public holidays in order to meet service requirements in respect of service user needs.
About the Role
As a Social Worker in our Family Safeguarding Team youll work collaboratively with families partner agencies and multi-disciplinary professionals to support children to remain safely at home wherever possible. Youll use a strengths-based approach to empower families reduce risk and promote positive outcomes.
What Youll Do
- Manage a varied caseload of children and families
- Undertake assessments and develop outcome-focused plans
- Work within a multi-agency setting to deliver holistic support
- Contribute to safeguarding and child protection processes
- Champion the voice of the child in all aspects of your work
What Were Looking For
- Qualified Social Worker with SWE registration
- Experience in childrens social care ideally in safeguarding
- Strong communication assessment and analytical skills
- A commitment to trauma-informed and relationship-based practice
- Newly qualified social workers are welcome to apply and will be supported through the ASYE programme

You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use. However we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.
