Position Description


The Development Coordinator is a detail-oriented and mission-driven team member who plays a key role in the smooth operation of the development department. They manage donor data with care and precision ensuring accurate gift processing timely acknowledgments and consistent data integrity across systems. This role supports fundraising efforts by producing reports and dashboards maintaining clean records and supporting donor stewardship and campaign logistics. The Development Coordinator also works collaboratively across departmentsparticularly with finance communications and operationsto ensure seamless execution of donor engagement activities revenue reconciliation and department-wide systems alignment.


Compensation

  • This position has a starting salary range of $60278-$72938 for a four-day 32-hour work week depending on experience and qualifications as determined by CAFs Compensation Philosophy Policy.
  • A 401K is offered with a 5% employer contribution matched if employee contributes
  • Unlimited paid time off mandatory four weeks off; paid parental leave; federally observed holidays
  • 100% employer-paid health insurance premiums including dental and vision with 50% coverage for dependents.

Work schedule

  • A full-time work week at CAF is defined as a minimum of 32 hours over four days. This may change in the future.
  • Illinois residence is required by the start of employment. Work is partially remote. A minimum of 2 days in the office. The office is in the West Loop. This may change in the future.

Essential Job Functions:

Database & Reporting (approximately 60%)

  • Oversees all aspects of gift entry acknowledgment and data integrity in the donor database (currently EveryAction)
  • Processes and tracks donations pledges event registrations and matching gifts
  • Produces dashboards revenue reports and performance tracking for campaigns and events with support from Database Manager as needed
  • Supports moves management tracking for major donors and all portfolios
  • Maintains and updates standard operating procedures
  • Trains other development staff on the use of the CRM database as needed
  • Maintains donor records and works with Database Manager to keep data standardized and clean
  • Generates well-targeted lists for mailings evaluation reporting and donor materials


Operations & Administrative Support (approximately 20%)

  • Provides logistical support for donor meetings stewardship mailings and special events
  • Supports prospect research and briefing materials as needed
  • Provides administrative support to development team members
  • Ensures timely and accurate generation of tax receipts and thank-you letters
  • Oversee the development teams shared inbox serving as the first point of contact for donor inquiries related to gifts acknowledgments and other development-related matters


Cross-Team Coordination (approximately 15%)

  • Partners with operations and finance teams on weekly and monthly revenue reconciliation ensuring alignment between CRM and accounting system
  • Acts as the hub for development logistics and systems working with finance communications operations and programs as needed
  • Ensures seamless execution of campaigns mailings and donor experiences


Other (5%)

  • Actively participate in required CAF meetings and respond in a timely manner to CAF staff communications
  • When required participate in reproductive justice movement-building initiatives
  • Participate in and support an organizational culture that fosters deep collaboration trust and coordination across functional areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor


Qualifications

  • Commitment to reproductive justice and abortion access for all people
  • Knowledge of intersectionality and the impact that privilege and oppression can have on peoples ability to access abortion


Experience

  • 2 years previous administrative work experience including managing CRM databases
  • Proficiency in Google Suite social media project management software Slack
  • Experience producing synthesizing and interpreting statistical and financial reports
  • Experience displaying key metrics and statistics in a format that is easy-to-understand and accessible to a wide range of audiences
  • Experience with relevant fundraising activities
  • Experience with reconciling donor data and records
  • Able to read and understand a budget
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Works flexibly effectively manages ambiguity in a dynamic work environment
  • Works independently self-motivated juggles prioritizes on their own
  • Performs under pressure excellent time management detail-oriented
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse communities
  • Comfortable and experienced with handling confidential donor information
  • Self-motivated resourceful adaptive responsive and able to make strategic decisions
  • Comfortable asking for support or help when needed

  • Some work at off-site locations may be required; CAF aims for accessibility in any off-site location that we have control of but some of them may not be fully accessible
  • Must be able to conduct business in English
  • Evening and weekend work is rare but sometimes required
