Job Duties
The Department of the Treasury is an innovative customer-driven results-oriented state agency providing financial management services for the Commonwealth. We offer challenging and interesting work and a friendly and positive environment.
The selected candidate will provide assistance creative and technical support and collaborate with the PR and Marketing Manager on initiatives projects and events.
This position has primary responsibility for conducting targeted outreach to inform and assist organizations and citizens in the process of claiming their unclaimed property.
Job duties include:
- Promote the Unclaimed Property program and services through contacts with a wide range of constituents business entities local and state government officials and consumer groups;
- Enhance citizen awareness of the Unclaimed Property program through multiple targeted outreach efforts;
- Detail analytical work in processing outreach claims;
- Establish and maintain contact with consumer groups citizen organizations business and professional groups for effective communication of information;
- Manage scheduling logistics and data tracking of the Unclaimed Property Outreach program.
- Assist Manager with locating marketing opportunities for consideration.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires excellent customer service skills as demonstrated by the ability to talk to others to convey information effectively.
Exceptional written communication skills. Must be able to compose timely correspondence with grammatical accuracy and tactfulness.
General understanding of Virginia Treasurys Unclaimed Property Program.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain contact with various consumer organizations.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex information and make appropriate decisions.
Working knowledge of financial/accounting principles and general business practices.
Must be able to work independently.
Must possess a valid driver license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
