Job Description: Purchasing Manager (On-Site)

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to come join our team to work onsite at the facility in the Surrey BC area. The ideal person will have a background in industrial manufacturing and production purchasing products such as structural steel and various other related materials. You will thrive being outside in the elements looking at the materials understanding the materials you re buying and making sure everything is getting utilized properly to help with business and production efficiency. You will also be responsible for tracking the companys inventory and supply. You will be communicating with a lot of outside vendors but also various departments within the company so excellent communication skills and relationship building will be important to your success. You will have one direct report to help with tracking purchases and other administrative tasks. Schedule is Mon-Fri/general business hours. Compensation is base plus profit share with earning potential ranging from $120K - $140K annual. This will be based on your experience and expertise and the profit share is discretionary and based on company performance as well as other KPI s and metrics. Excellent benefits and 3 weeks vacation from the start of your employment.

Requirements:

  • Degree or certification in Purchasing and Logistics an asset
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar purchasing role
  • Background in purchasing for an industrial manufacturing company
  • Must have knowledge and experience dealing with steel grades
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of structural steel materials
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
  • Computer skills for completing purchase orders reports and inventory tracking
  • Ability to delegate accordingly
  • Must be available to work on-site
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
