Job Description
Physician Assistant-Cardiology Permanent Role
- Location: Plano TX 75093
- Shift: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM
- Guaranteed Hours: 8 per week
- Compensation: Based on experience
- Assess patients physical and mental condition through comprehensive or problem-focused exams and medical histories
- Order collect interpret and evaluate lab and other diagnostic tests to assess health problems and needs
- Prescribe or recommend appropriate medical drug therapies or other treatments per approved protocols focusing on safety efficacy and cost
- Develop and implement evidence-based outcomes-focused treatment plans collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams as appropriate
- Evaluate patients responses to care and adjust plans accordingly
- Counsel patients and families on disease processes medication nutrition health promotion and risk behavior modification
- Maintain thorough accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes; initiate timely referrals or consultations beyond scope of practice
- Provide consultative services within area of specialty and training
- Manage patients in alternate healthcare settings beyond the clinic (e.g. inpatient emergency services procedural areas)
- Perform invasive procedures within scope of practice and delegated privileges
- Solid knowledge of diagnosing and treating injuries diseases and conditions including preventive care and drug interactions
- Understanding of principles methods and procedures for diagnosis treatment and rehabilitation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in using computers and related software
- Ability to develop and implement comprehensive outcomes-based treatment plans
- Ability to counsel patients on physical and psychological conditions treatment plans and behavior change
- Competence in interpreting and evaluating lab and diagnostic tests
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Experience: More than 1 Year of Experience (cardiology)
- Licensure/Certifications:
- Current Physician Assistant license in the state of Texas
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
