Maintenance Operative. Manor Park Care Home
- Hours: Full Time and Part Time available
- Salary: £13.39 per hour
- Start Date: Early September (exact date TBC)
- Shift Pattern: To be confirmed. Full flexibility required including availability for both weekday and weekend shifts.
Opening in mid-September in the heart of Malton Manor Park Care Home is a brand-new purpose-built facility offering high-quality residential nursing and dementia care. We are now looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Operative to join our opening team and help ensure the home is always safe functional and beautifully presented.
Key Responsibilities.
As Maintenance Operative you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the home ensuring all facilities equipment and systems are maintained to the highest standards. You’ll play a vital role in creating a safe and comfortable environment for residents staff and visitors.
- Carry out general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing joinery painting and minor repairs.
- Conduct regular checks and inspections of the building equipment and safety systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work inspections and servicing.
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when necessary.
- Support with fire safety checks emergency lighting and water temperature monitoring.
- Assist with setting up rooms and moving furniture or equipment as needed.

*Overtime is paid for working over fulltime hours. Free meals are given if working over an 8 hour shift and are subject to terms and conditions. Discounts are accessed using our ‘Reward Me’ app. Flexible pay is available via ‘WAGESTREAM’.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role ideally within a care home healthcare or hospitality setting.
- Good working knowledge of general building maintenance and health & safety practices.
- A proactive hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Friendly and respectful attitude with a commitment to supporting a safe and pleasant environment for residents.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends if required.
