The Director of Finance provides strategic leadership functional guidance and valuable insights for optimal business decision; Interacting with hotels legal counsel insurance companies tax consultants auditors commercial and government banks to effectively control the assets of the business. The Director of Finance will be a highly motivated team player with strong accounting communication business presentation and analytical skills.
- Oversee the full spectrum of financial operations including budgeting forecasting reporting auditing and compliance.
- Develop and implement robust financial controls and policies to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with the General Manager executive committee and department heads to drive profitability and support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with company standards and local regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all local tax laws labor laws and financial regulations.
- Manage cash flow working capital and capital expenditure plans cost control and inventory to optimize profitability operational and financial performance.
- Lead the finance team by setting clear goals providing training and development and promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Supervise and develop the finance team to ensure high levels of accuracy professionalism and service.
- Liaise with external auditors banks and government authorities as required.
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide insight and recommendations to improve revenue reduce costs and maximize return on investment.
- Oversee daily financial operations including accounting purchasing payroll and audit functions.
- Monitor key performance indicators and prepare timely accurate financial reports and analyses for senior management and ownership.
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards tax regulations and internal policies.
- Collaborate with department heads to support financial decision-making and business strategies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors banks and other financial stakeholders and ownership.
- Contribute to strategic planning and provide recommendations based on financial insights and data.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or related field (Masters or MBA preferred).
- CPA ACCA CMA or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in the hospitality industry with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in operations is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in financial management systems (e.g. Sun Systems Opera Hyperion or similar).
- Proficient in software ( Microsoft Suite.).
- Exceptional analytical organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven leadership ability with a hands-on proactive approach.
