Software Development Engineer - II, Amazon Ads

Amazon is investing in building a world class Advertising business. Our team the Advertising Sales Product Engineering team is at the head of this growth to enable our sales teams deliver at scale. Our goal is to accelerate the manually intensive sales operations by building required services and self-service applications.

This is a team with a focused initiative looking for a motivated Software Development Engineers / SDEs with a proven track record of building web applications and services at scale. Youll be responsible for owning designing and delivering highly scalable systems. Were a fast-growing team with a very high focus from business to grow. Key job responsibilities
You will:
- Own technical vision and direction: You identify problems and develop solutions; you embrace performance metrics and measurement techniques because they help you assess how well system-related services are running.
- Build and grow your team: Youll be a key contributor on an engineering team that delivers results. Youll be an example of Amazons leadership principles and work to grow more leaders within your group.
- Collaborate on product direction: Youll build and maintain strong relationships between engineering and partner disciplines (e.g. Product User Experience) to ensure that were focused on delivering the right product(s) for our customers.

A day in the life
Our team is comprised of engineers scientist and PMs focused on building technical solutions that empower Amazon teams to invent on behalf of our Advertiser Customers worldwide. Our customers include both internal and external. Our team is in the early stage and being built from scratch. We follow Scrum process and work as a startup.

About the team
We are highly motivated collaborative and fun-loving with an entrepreneurial spirit and bias for action. With a broad mandate to experiment and innovate our goal is to accelerate the otherwise human-intensive sales operations by investing in strategic self-service applications. We will accelerate the productivity of internal sales executives and external Ad agencies.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
