Job Description

The Part-Time Early Childhood Coach and Field Experience Coordinator is a masters level credentialed grant-funded role (through December 2027) starting August 2025. Based from both the Anderson and Muncie campus service areas this 20-hour-per-week position supports
field site mentorship practicum supervision and model classroom coordination across East Central Indiana. The role includes 50-75% travel for site visits and 25-50% remote and/or on-campus administrative work with mileage reimbursement provided. Monday-Friday day-time hours are required for site visits.

Key Responsibilities

Field Site Coordination

Establish and maintain high-quality field placement partnerships.

Match students to appropriate field sites.

Maintain placement records and collaborate on new site approvals.

Practicum Supervision and Support

Supervise guide and evaluate practicum and apprenticeship students.

Serve as a liaison between students mentor teachers and faculty.

Support practicum course instruction through an additional adjunct contract if

needed.

Conduct practicum and advanced field placement experiences site visits for

students.

Mentor Coaching & Model Classroom Support

Coach mentor teachers providing resources and professional development.

Align model classroom mentoring and professional development opportunities

with the early learning program goals and Ivy Tech NAEYC accreditation

standards.

Oversee classroom needs materials procurement and mentor teacher stipends.

Professional Development & Outreach

Facilitate engagement with T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Indiana scholarships or

other available funding opportunities.

Organize professional development for mentors and students.

Administrative Duties

Document progress ensure accountability and support accreditation reporting.

Contribute to program evaluations course development and grant reporting.

Other duties that contribute to the vision and mission of the department may be

assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

Masters degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or a related field.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in early childhood education including

teaching career coaching and field placement coordination.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with educational institutions and community partners.

Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with learning management systems and other educational technologies.

Preferred:

Knowledge of apprenticeship programs workforce development initiatives and

scholarship programs such as T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Indiana.

Familiarity with NAEYC Higher Education Accreditation Standards and Competencies.

Hold or be able to quickly acquire the Council for Professional Recognitions

Professional Development Specialist (PDS) credential for preschool and infant toddler to qualify to complete CDA verification visits as needed.
