DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the maintenance repair and operation of mechanical electrical and instrumentation equipment critical to the efficient functioning of the treatment facility. This role plays a vital role in ensuring the continuous operation of equipment and systems essential for wastewater treatment processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical education or certification in mechanical electrical or instrumentation maintenance preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance is required preferably in a wastewater treatment or similar process industry.
- Must possess a valid Drivers License (Class C) at time of placement.
- Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including the operation maintenance and repair of pumps motors gearboxes and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge and proficiency in reading technical manuals blueprints and electrical schematics to interpret equipment specifications and diagnose issues.
- Skill in troubleshooting mechanical systems and identifying faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and procedures.
- Skill in reading and interpreting technical manuals blueprints and schematics to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Skill in using hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete mechanical repairs and perform preventive maintenance.
- Ability to solve complex mechanical issues with attention to detail while prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team as well as with contractors vendors and other external stakeholders.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical electrical and instrumentation equipment including pumps motors valves conveyors blowers and control systems to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform corrective repairs using diagnostic tools technical manuals and schematics to identify and address root causes of issues.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential problems safety hazards and maintenance needs documenting findings and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Assist in the installation commissioning and testing of new equipment and upgrades collaborating with contractors engineers and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
- Provide training and guidance to plant personnel on equipment operation maintenance procedures and safety practices to promote skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Other duties as assigned.
