Carrier Gas Operations provides on-site air separation units producing nitrogen and oxygen gas production with best-in-class safety reliability flexibility and total cost of operation to our semiconductor manufacturing customers. Also supplying cost effective high purity bulk gas.
The Production Technician will work in a team environment to safely operate and troubleshoot three nitrogen and oxygen production plants which supply an on-site semiconductor manufacturer. The Production Technician will help the team achieve the goal of over 99% plant uptime for our continuous production process.
Provide 24-hour support to the high purity nitrogen production plant liquid bulk and high purity gas delivery systems.
Coordinate the installation facilitation and start-up of said equipment.
Repair equipment such as compressors valves pumps cooling towers water treatment analyzers and some electronic devices.
Control costs to achieve budget targets.
Display proper attitude and work ethic.
Demonstrate ability to follow directions from site operations manager.
Offers suggestions to improve system and procedure efficiency and quality.
Perform the functional testing of said equipment prior to customer acceptance.
Provide warranty coverage and assistance for installed equipment.
Perform advanced gas troubleshooting and repair of delivery equipment.
Maintain and operate specialty gas delivery equipment such as bulk tanks analyzers monitoring equipment.
Maintain historical records of equipment maintenance and/or repair.
Assist in the identification and resolution of gas related semiconductor-manufacturing problems.
Assist in drafting specifications for operating procedures/work instructions and revise existing procedures as required for the various pieces of equipment at each location.
Generate site-specific reports and consolidate data as requested by the customer or Air Liquide management.
Facilitate all customer and Air Liquide programs including but not limited to: Safety Training Operations and Preventive Maintenance.
Comply with all applicable HS&E Standards including but not limited to: PPE Forklift Operations Lock Out/Tag Out Program Confined Space Entry etc.
Provide site information to local sales force to identify potential opportunities for Air Liquide.
Provide technical information and assistance to local sales force or other Air Liquide department.
Provide various presentations to customers and Air Liquide personnel detailing any and all field service data or information.
Monitor operating costs and spending.
Complete assigned tasks as per existing procedures.
Skill Set/Knowledge/Expertise:

Evidence of previous work in a successful team environment act as a mentor to all junior technicians.
Ability to coordinate and supervise a group of technicians on a project.
Electro-mechanical aptitude.
Display aptitude for controlling an emergency situation and coordinating problem-solving actions.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of technical training or operations experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
AS Degree preferred
Ability to work extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate.
Ability to work nights weekends and possibly holidays in order to meet shift and on-call requirements.
Valid Drivers License
Knowledge/understanding of instrumentation rotating equipment and piping systems.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management EPA regulations FDA regulations state/local regulations).
Knowledge in the proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment.
Ability to use computers-knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Ability to work in a team environment; demonstrated self motivated attitude.
Good verbal/written communication skills in order to deal effectively with management and external customers.
Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including hardhat safety glasses safety shoes/boots and FRC clothing
Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.
Able to climb ladders work off elevated platforms/surfaces
Able to work in non-conditioned environment for extended periods
Able to enter confined spaces for inspection testing and work
Technical training or experience preferred.
Previous experience in semiconductor field desirable.
Qualified in operation of the forklift man lift and overhead crane is preferred.
The hourly rate range for this position in Virginia is $24.00 to $26.00
