This position plays a leadership role in the implementation of Certified Community Based integrated Health Centers statewide expansion of integration and in monitoring and adjusting progress in abiding by state laws regarding such integration.
This role includes evaluation of strategies for achieving full integration of services in collaboration with state offices community providers of mental health and health care services insurance providers and partners working on improving diversity and equity.
The Mental Health and Health Care Integration Director identifies and directs the implementation of nationally recognized best practices for integrated patient care health maintenance and health systems transformation.
This position supervises the Evidence-Based Practices Manager.
Responsibilities will evolve as integration proceeds as mandated by the legislature and policy unfolds at the state and national level related to integration requiring a high degree of varied skills and significant adaptability.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02 Hiring Standards Vermont and/or national criminal record checks as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks as appropriate to the position under recruitment will be conducted on candidates with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Significant travel will be required. Some work outside of normal office hours may be required. Stress may be encountered from strict deadlines conflicting opinions and the result of decisions regarding integration. The incumbent must be skilled at conflict management and integrating various stakeholder viewpoints.
Masters degree or higher in policy health related fields human services related fields public administration or communication AND three (3) years or more of experience at an administrative or supervisory level of responsibility for a program.
OR
Bachelors Degree in policy health related fields human services related fields public administration or communication AND five (5) years or more of experience at an administrative or supervisory level of responsibility for program.
Policy knowledge legislative experience and work with executive-level decisions makers.
