Ivy Tech Bloomington campus is searching a College and Career Coach that will work to improve the number of students pursuing a strong postsecondary pathway which could include technical certifications associate degrees and other postsecondary degrees including career and technical education (CTE). The position will plan and implement outreach services in conjunction with industry representatives school corporations and postsecondary institutions. This work is aimed at helping students define their career aspirations and to recognize technical and community college programs that can help them achieve their educational and career goals. Coaches will have a hybrid work placement both on Ivy Tech Community College Bloomingtons campus and their assigned MCCSC middle and/or high school.
**This position is a 6-month grant-funded position in partnership with Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) with potential extension but no guarantee.
Annual Salary: $43900
Rolling Interviews will occur until the position is filled.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide regular career counseling for high school students to help them discover fulfilling successful careers.
- Work with students individually to complete a Career Interest Inventory and postsecondary education plan all designed to meet career/employability goals.
- Prepare and share information on career exploration and job market statistics to facilitate students postsecondary planning.
- Develop a strategic plan to guide them through their high school and college years and achieve their career goals.
- Maintains liaisons with postsecondary institutions employers community leaders and organizations for the purpose of building resources and expanding program opportunities for students.
- Coordinate career learning activities (such as mock interviews financial literacy training and college or industry visits).
- Maintain intensive focus on work ethic and soft skill training
- Implement workshops to assist students and their guardians in developing informed and attainable plans for higher education and career.
- Assist with professional resume writing.
- Provide support for students pursuing dual credit and dual enrollment programming. This may include assisting and advising them about the process of enrollment and registration as part of pathway completion. This may include helping students through Dual Enroll assessment and transfer credit discussions.
- Serve as liaison for dual credit matters by communicating regularly with high school staff students and parents.
- Communicate in writing and through regularly scheduled meetings with Ivy Tech staff and high school/career center administration.
- Serve as an Ivy Tech Community College representative in the schools.
- Travel between the schools and Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is required.
- Position will co-report to the Lead College and Career Coach at Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington and an administrator from each of the schools.
- This position may not be thought of as an additional staff to help with duties that do not fit with career navigation. Such as lunch duty testing scheduling discipline or other non-related tasks.
- The position will receive comprehensive training on the Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington campus around the College and Career Coach role. Additionally the position will work on the Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington campus when the schools are closed for summer break winter break etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Recent experience in advising career counseling industry recruiting or student services preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills required.
- Applicants should have recent work experience outside of the K-12 environment in order to best provide insight regarding career opportunities and connections for students after high school.
