As the Supplier Quality Leader you will be the factorys lead for incoming material quality and supplier development. You will develop and execute strategies to improve supplier performance ensure consistent part quality and drive corrective actions upstream. Youll manage the supplier quality engineering and technician team while partnering closely with procurement manufacturing and engineering functions.

How Youll Create Possibilities

  • Lead and develop the supplier quality team including 3 Incoming Quality Technicians Autopsy personnel and the salvage team. Supervise supplier quality personnel and provide ongoing performance feedback and coaching.
  • Manage the incoming quality process to ensure timely disposition of suspect material and alignment with production requirements. Maintain robust tracking of incoming non-conformances (NCRs).
  • Drive resolution of supplier-related quality issues through effective use of A3 root cause analysis and corrective action planning. Drive central supplier quality organization to ensure containment communication and permanent corrective actions are implemented.
  • Establish and monitor key supplier quality metrics including PPM on-time resolution of issues and incoming inspection trends. Present performance data in management reviews and escalation meetings.
  • Partner with sourcing and engineering teams on supplier selection qualification and performance monitoring. Participate in PPAP and part validation activities for new product introductions or supplier changes.
  • Audit and assess supplier quality systems including support for on-site assessments and follow-ups. Work with strategic suppliers to build capability and implement systemic improvements.
  • Lead implementation of quality standards and documentation (control plans inspection criteria work instructions) for purchased components.
  • Support the plants Quality System compliance as it relates to supplier control. Ensure proper documentation and traceability for supplier parts and processes.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues impacting production and customer satisfaction. Collaborate closely with manufacturing design and assembly quality teams.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for continuous improvement projects targeting incoming material defects cost of poor quality (COQ% of revenue) and supplier development.

What Youll Bring to Our Team

  • 5 years of direct leadership experience in supplier or manufacturing quality
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Supply Chain or a related technical field
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier quality processes (PPAP APQP FMEA SPC MSA)
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis corrective action methods and quality tools (A3 5-Why Fishbone FMEA/PFMEA etc.)
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external suppliers
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with high part complexity and tight tolerances

Preferred:

  • Certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Black Belt or Green Belt)
  • Strong project management skills and ERP/MRP system experience
  • Familiarity with electronics plastics metals or injection-molded parts
  • Proficiency in data analysis reporting tools and quality dashboards
