Job Description

Department: Network and Information Services
Job Title: Financial Office Associate
Education Level: High School Diploma required. Prior office experience or evidence of advanced training preferred.


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge of basic office equipment including computers telephones and copy/printers.
  • Experience using Internet and computer desktop applications including productivity software (i.e. Google and MS Office suites).
  • Understanding of basic finances tracking expenses and maintaining budgets.
  • Proficient in written and oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with a focus on rapport-building listening and questioning skills.

Essential Functions of Position:

1. Perform clerical duties as required

  • Performs accurate typing data entry and computer skills.
  • Uses effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates sound decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationship skills with co-workers other departments and the public.
  • Utilizes ESU 10 state and federal business and reporting systems.

2. Assists with grant applications and processes financial claims

  • Prepares and processes contracts for presenters and service providers.
  • Maintains financial records.
  • Processes mileage and expenditure reimbursement claims.
  • Prepares accounts payable and accounts receivable source documents.

3. Demonstrates proficiency utilizing ODIE

  • Maintains accurate inventory records.
  • Generates accounts receivable billings.
  • Reconciles absence and travel requests.
  • Prepares and manages workshops.


4. Specific departmental duties/projects

  • Prepares and tracks orders for business equipment and workshop materials.
  • Assists with budget preparations.
  • Manages NIS department billing.
  • Supports all financial aspects in the NIS department.


5. Adhere to regular and dependable attendance


6. Other duties as assigned
