JOB SUMMARY
The Oncology Triage Nurse manages the triage phone line usually during normal hours based on algorithms to ensure standardized timely support. When needed confers with a Medical Oncologist. Ensures timely access to information and care for cancer and hematology patients. Serves as an essential liaison between patient and provider in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. This remote symptom management should reduce unnecessary ED and physician visits and improve the continuum of oncology care.JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS
Type: Full-time 80 hours per 2 week pay period
Typical hours: Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p
Education:
- Associates of Nursing - required
- Bachelors of Nursing - preferred
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program.
Certification & Licensures:
- Licensed to practice in the State of Missouri.
- BLS Certification
- Obtain OCN certification within two years of hiring.
Experience:
Minimum three (3) years experience in an acute care setting. Preferably in an oncology healthcare setting.
