Kendal at Oberlins Information Technology Department is currently seeking an experienced IT professional for the newly created full-time position ofIT Technical Project Coordinator & Support Specialist. (**This is a mid-level position. It is not a consulting position and is based fully on-site in Oberlin**) This individualwill be responsible for coordinating a variety of IT projects from initiation to completion while providing technical support for service desk tickets to support the business teams and residents. It is expected that an average of 35% of your day will be spent coordinating campus projects and 65% or your day will be spent completing help desk tickets for KaO business team staff and residents. This hybrid role ensures smooth operations by managing organizational initiatives coordinating with stakeholders and resolving end-user technical issues. The role requires strong project coordination skills technical troubleshooting expertise and exceptional customer service to support the organizations mission. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage IT projects across various departments ensuring timely completion within scope and budget.
- Develop project plans timelines and milestones while tracking progress and risks.
- IT service support will be an estimated : 0-70% for Tier 1-3 Help Desk for staff and resident home support and 30% on Tier 4 tickets related to data backup and light network support (wireless and wired).
- Collaborate with internal departments vendors and external partners to align projects with business goals.
- Manage project documentation including requirements technical specifications and post-implementation reports.
- Ensure projects comply with security compliance and data governance policies.
- Respond to prioritize and resolve IT service desk tickets ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
- Troubleshoot hardware software network and system issues for end-users.
- Escalate complex technical problems to senior IT personnel or vendors as needed.
- Promote IT best practices around Cyber Security and be a resource of cross training the User Community.
- Assist with user onboarding including account setup access control and training.
- Collaborate with event organizers and provide technical support for A.V. equipment throughout the organization including the Heiser Auditorium and any space that requires A.V.
- Provide back up support with the administration of IT infrastructure including servers network devices and cloud-based applications at the direction of The Kendal Corporation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in business Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of experience in project coordination and service desk support roles. Project management experience a plus.
- A technology professional who possesses a strong ability to self-manage the workload with a healthy ability to manage competing priorities is a must.
- Project Management Professional (CAPM or PMP) ITIL 4 Service Management or other relevant certifications are a plus.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure networking and enterprise applications.
- Experience with project management tools such as Asana Trello or Microsoft Project.
- Experience with IT service management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow Halo ConnectWise or ManageEngine.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Experience in healthcare senior living or Life Plan Community environments is a plus.
