Position Description:
Grace Company is seeking a full-time in-office technical writer to create clear helpful instructions for assembling using and servicing our products. Youll work closely with our engineering education and marketing teams to develop accurate polished content that may be shared internally or with customers and dealers-both in print and digital formats.
Job Duties:
Interview subject matter experts to understand how products are assembled and used.
Organize information from multiple sources and resolve inconsistencies through careful research.
Work hands-on with prototypes to test your own instructions and those written by others.
Follow a style guide to ensure documentation is polished consistent and easy to use.
Proofread and edit content for other writers and departments.
Create quality visual assets from 3D computer models to accompany written content.
Required Skills:
Strong command of grammar spelling and usage. *
Ability to write clearly concisely and precisely. *
Excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Curiosity about the products and processes youll be documenting.
Friendly and collaborative especially during interviews or when giving/receiving feedback.
Skilled at organizing complex information into logical step-by-step instructions. *
Able to identify vague or conflicting information and ask the right questions.
A helpful empathetic approach-especially toward the end user.
Comfortable communicating visually using images (graphics photos screenshots or illustrations). *

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in technical writing
- Skills in illustration or graphic design
- Experience with document layout design
- Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Indesign
- Experience using Solidworks Composer
Salary and Benefits:
- $20-$22 per hour depending on experience and skills
- 2 weeks paid time off
