Job Description

Stipend Opportunity: COSE Summer Out of District Support

Description:

The Office of Specialized Services is seeking active COSE to provide Out of District (OOD) IEP supports. Specifically the COSE will:

  1. Review entire OOD caseload for compliance (ie: IEPs and Settlement Agreements) identify and implement strategies to resolve FAPE compliance issues.
  2. Review entire OOD caseload for workload balance and propose a COSE caseload model for SY25/26.
  3. Begin SY25/26 communication and planning with OOD schools including setting meetings with appropriate personnel and school visits.
  4. Review OOD policies and procedures and ensure their alignment with applicable federal/state laws and BPS policies.
  5. Manage OOD inbox for actionable items.

Terms:

  1. The opportunity is expected to take between 20 and 40 hours between 6/24/25 and 8/30/2025.
  2. The opportunity is paid at the BTU hourly rate of 56.81.

Qualifications:

  1. Currently employed in BPS as a COSE in SY25/26.
  2. Has experience working with out of district students and familiarity with specialized day schools.
