About the Common Law Section of the Faculty of Law

Over the past 20 years the Common Law Section of the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa has become a national and global leader in many fields. We are the only law school to offer a common law degree in both English and French and our faculty is one of the most accomplished in the country. Raison dtre du poste :

Le titulaire de ce posteassure un rle de leadership stratgique dans la planification llaboration et la gestion de toutes les activits du Programme de pratique du droit de lUniversit dOttawa afin que le mandat et les objectifs de celui-ci se ralisent pleinement. Il est responsable de la supervision du personnel administratif de lunit et sassure de lharmonisation des ressources humaines financires et matrielles dune faon en optimiser leur utilisation. Veille la promotion et au rayonnement communautaire du programme afin dassurer doffrir des opportunits professionnelles aux tudiants en rponse aux besoins du march.

Dans ce rle vous aurez les responsabilits suivantes :

  • Assurer la supervision de la planification et la mise en uvre des modules dapprentissages ainsi que de projets stratgiques en fixant les orientations et les priorits du Programme qui sont alignes avec les objectifs des bailleurs de fonds et du comit consultatif.

  • Assurer latteinte des objectifs oprationnels en dirigeant le dveloppement des modules dapprentissage du Programme ainsi que des activits administratives qui en dcoulent afin dassurer un fonctionnement oprationnel optimal qui rpond aux besoins de ses clientles.

  • Grer les ressources humaines incluant lvaluation du rendement la planification des ressources ltablissement dobjectifs la formation et le dveloppement de lquipe sous sa responsabilit. Sassurer que les membres de lquipe sont redevables pour leur secteur dactivit et quils accomplissent les tches qui leur sont assignes.

  • Grer les ressources financires du Programme en dterminant les priorits budgtaires et en procdant diverses analyses afin dexercer un contrle budgtaire qui respecte les politiques et rglements de lUniversit et des agences de recherche. Administrer le budget en fonction des priorits des subventions et de la rtroaction du bailleur de fonds.

  • Offrir un rle de leadership dans la recherche de fonds et llaboration de demandes de financement en engageant des partenariats potentiels recherche des stages/placements et organise des visites sur le terrain et des expriences similaires amliorant lemployabilit.

Ce que vous apportez :

  • LLB/JD ou tudes suprieures en droit ou dans un autre domaine dtude pertinent. Matrise en droit un atout

  • Minimum de 7 ans dexprience dans la pratique du droit ou dans ladministration dorganisations but non lucratif du secteur public ou priv de lducation ou dun autre domaine pertinent des postes comportant des responsabilits croissantes en matire de gestion et de direction.

  • Membre en rgle du Barreau de lOntario

  • Exprience en gestion et en ressources humaines

  • Connaissance et exprience de la gestion financire incluant les projections les rapports et lanalyse

  • Connaissance et exprience de la gestion de projets

  • Exprience dans lutilisation des systmes informatiss et des logiciels de gestion de cabinet et de pratique

  • Exprience dans la rdaction dententes et de demandes de fonds

  • Aptitudes dmontres pour le leadership les relations interpersonnelles et la rsolution de problmes

  • Matrise du franais oral et crit comptences en anglais

  • Fortes aptitudes la rdaction de rapports lintention de diffrents publics

The rating is determined by a proficiency test designed by the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute.

Prior to May 1 2022 the University required all students faculty staff and visitors (including contractors) to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as defined in Policy 129 Covid-19 Vaccination. This policy was suspended effective May 1 2022 but may be reinstated at any point in the future depending on public health guidelines and the recommendations of experts.
