The Position

The Associate Analyst Payroll will provide technical & analytical support to the Payroll and Time function for site(s) line of business (LOBs). Process full scope Payroll & Time processing in an efficient accurate & reliable manner. Resolve issues and ensure compliance with local state & federal laws. Interact with all levels of internal & external customers and provide cross-functional support via shared services model to site LOBs. Provide support to other required initiatives as required.

Reports to Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Process monitor & maintenance of payroll data ensuring compliance with all applicable federal & state laws
  • Address complex tax issues & respond to appropriate agency and/or stakeholder
  • Responsible for payroll and time systems to include systems maintenance to provide accurate reporting and multi-state payroll set up compliance & processing
  • Identify and support execution of process improvement initiatives
  • Prepare various special pay calculations; payroll & time upload/reports; complex reports to support & comply with government requirements; and payroll input & reconciliation for company government grants & incentives reporting
  • Responsible for employee garnishments fringes & payments
  • Serve as back-up to full scope of payroll & time across North America and as liaison to internal & external financial auditors
  • Conduct training on HR systems/payroll practices as required
  • Prepare & coordinate payroll transactions to General Ledger
  • Responsible for expatriate pay calculations and monitors net pay calculations each pay period
  • Ensures proper programming of payroll and time system(s) for special calculations & compliance engaging ADP to create change requests & thorough testing of solutions
  • Ensures timely follow through on payroll and time inquiries
  • Supports Rewards & Recognition Team to ensure timely 401(k) and HSA funding
  • Support cross-functional team within P&O & other departments as required
  • Provide support & assistance to Finance Team & other general accounting functions to include seamless year-end & year-begin process
  • Ensure accurate 401(k) & benefit data as it relates to payroll by performing regular data audits to include annual audit data preparation including but not limited to the following: performing 401(k) External Audit Internal Quarterly 401(k) audits to reconcile with vendor data Internal GIA and External minimal controls audit & Workers Comp Payroll Audit
  • Identify & manage payroll quality control standards
  • Prepare materials & participate in new hire orientation as requested
  • Responsible for absenteeism/absence reporting
  • May support payroll aspects of international expatriate assignments
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited university required with minimum of three (3) years of payroll processing experience required
  • May consider an Associates Degree from an accredited university with a minimum of five (5) years of Payroll Processing experience required
  • May consider a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of seven (7) years of Payroll Processing experience required
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)/Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems (Global View preferred) required
  • TLM system & timeclocks management required. ADP Workforce Manager preferred
  • SAP/SuccessFactors Employee Central HR system experience a plus
  • ADP Reporting preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required
  • Prior experience in HR environment preferred
  • Multi-state payroll experience preferred
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications required
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills required
  • Highly motivated & energetic required
  • High degree of accuracy & attention to detail required
