The Role
We are seeking a Customer Onboarding Risk Specialist to join our team and play a key role in ensuring robust due diligence and compliance with AML/CTF regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review high-risk and complex customer applications including PEPs high-risk jurisdictions and adverse media cases.
- Act as a subject matter expert on UK AML and CTF regulations.
- Analyse customer data transaction patterns and source of funds to assess risk.
- Draft clear and concise Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reports with actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with Compliance Legal and Risk teams to resolve AML concerns.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring and periodic reviews of high-risk accounts.
- Identify opportunities to enhance AML processes and controls.
- Stay up to date with regulatory developments and industry best practices.
About You
- Degree in law finance business or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK AML/CTF legislation (e.g. POCA JMLSG MLR 2017 FATF) and EU AML Directives.
- Experience with screening tools (e.g. World-Check Dow Jones LexisNexis) and case management systems.
- Excellent analytical research and written communication skills.
- Professional certification such as CAMS ICA or equivalent is highly desirable.
