Customer Onboarding Risk Specialist

Location: Langar United Kingdom

Employment Type: Full-time Hybrid

The Role

We are seeking a Customer Onboarding Risk Specialist to join our team and play a key role in ensuring robust due diligence and compliance with AML/CTF regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review high-risk and complex customer applications including PEPs high-risk jurisdictions and adverse media cases.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on UK AML and CTF regulations.
  • Analyse customer data transaction patterns and source of funds to assess risk.
  • Draft clear and concise Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Compliance Legal and Risk teams to resolve AML concerns.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and periodic reviews of high-risk accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance AML processes and controls.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory developments and industry best practices.

About You

  • Degree in law finance business or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK AML/CTF legislation (e.g. POCA JMLSG MLR 2017 FATF) and EU AML Directives.
  • Experience with screening tools (e.g. World-Check Dow Jones LexisNexis) and case management systems.
  • Excellent analytical research and written communication skills.
  • Professional certification such as CAMS ICA or equivalent is highly desirable.
