Production Planner/Scheduler
Mount Sterling OH

About:

Seeking an experienced Production Planner/Scheduler to oversee production planning scheduling and procurement for a manufacturing facility specializing in thermoforming foam print operations and related product lines. This role serves as the key liaison between customer service procurement and operations ensuring efficiency cost-effectiveness and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule production for foam straw cutlery extruder and specialty lines.
  • Collaborate with corporate planning and customer service to maintain timely and efficient production schedules.
  • Optimize equipment usage while aligning output with production goals and customer demand.
  • Monitor order flow prioritize production to meet market needs and adjust plans based on capacity constraints.
  • Manage inventory levels and coordinate procurement of key raw materials (foam beads plastic pellets packaging etc.).
  • Handle local procurement of operational supplies (inks machine parts maintenance items).
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships; negotiate pricing contracts and cost savings.
  • Oversee purchasing processes including issuing purchase orders and ensuring inventory adequacy.
  • Handle materials receipt coordination with Accounts Payable and manage disposal of surplus or obsolete materials.
  • Maintain documentation vendor communications and compliance with company purchasing procedures.
  • Support production management in their absence and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
  • Enforce safety GMP HACCP and SQF protocols.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams as needed and attend meetings regularly.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 4 to 10 years of supervisory or management experience in fast-paced manufacturing.
  • Background in plastics EPS consumer goods or high-speed production is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Hands-on leadership style and excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • English language fluency (verbal and written) required.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to work both independently and within teams.
