Overview
The POS Test Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of point-of-sale systems through rigorous testing and evaluation. This position is fundamental for retail and service sectors where payment transactions are vital. The engineer is responsible for devising testing protocols and executing detailed test plans to identify any possible issues within the software hardware and network components of POS systems. By collaborating with development teams the POS Test Engineer plays a key role in enhancing system performance and user experience. Quality assurance is paramount in this role as it directly impacts user satisfaction and operational efficacy. Furthermore the role requires staying updated with industry trends ensuring that the POS systems not only comply with current technological standards but also meet evolving consumer expectations. Overall the POS Test Engineer ensures that transactions are processed smoothly and securely contributing to the overarching success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Testing various POS transactions and Back Office Solutions (BOS)
- Physical card testing on terminals Magstripe EMV and Contactless
- Validate end-to-end EMV/Chip card transaction flows and logs
- Execute certification/acquirer/accreditation testing for B2B & B2C card payment systems
- Ensure compliance with PA-DSS and EMV certification standards
- Manage test cases using tools like ALM/HPQC
- Use defect management and test management tools effectively
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for end-to-end test activities

- Knowledge of software development and testing models
- Excellent communication and learning attitude
