The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Flight Test Engineer to join our team in Seattle WA.
Were looking for engineers who can function in a dynamic and exciting flight test environment. Our engineers plan and complete testing of Boeing commercial and military derivative aircraft to assure product safety performance and regulatory certification. Our engineers lead extensive test program efforts from creation of requirements through flight execution and reporting. We perform functions including test planning configuration control test conduct as well as data collection and analysis. This position will operate primarily out of Boeing Field in Seattle Washington. There will be assignments that require occasional testing at local domestic and international sites for up to 2-4 weeks at a time. Travel will be required.
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced high-intensity environment with changing requirements.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Supports the development and verification of test methods
Develop detailed test procedures and instrumentation and configuration definition needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan
Implements solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impact
Designs test hardware software and systems to achieve test requirements
Uses analytical tools to verify the design
Analyzes processes and formats data to customer requirements
Reviews test data including off-nominal data for accuracy quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer
Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements
Presents test results internally
Archives data and reports
Works under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
Willing and able to travel 10%-20% of the time both internationally and domestically
2 years of experience in an engineering role
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
2 years of experience working in a flight test and/or lab test engineering environment
Experience in aerospace propulsion testing propulsion design or propulsion integration
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and effectively communicate to establish a consensus on complex technical issues
