Job Description

This internship offers diverse experience working with our CLAS Champions committee.

The CLAS Champions aim to promote culturally and linguistically appropriate services through Riverside. This work helps improve health equity access and outcomes for the diverse populations of people we serve.

The committee follows the Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards outlined by the Office of Health Equity and Community Engagement.

The Committees goals are to:

  • Develop and implement CLAS standards that align with Riversides values goals and strategic plan.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of CLAS principles among staff stakeholders and the community.
  • Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of CLAS standards implementation.
  • Provide guidance and support for integrating CLAS into policies procedures and practices.

As a CLAS Intern you will

  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with the CLAS Champions
  • Support CLAS Champions projects and initiatives.
  • Research best practices related to the CLAS Standards
  • Review and analyze survey results and draw actionable conclusions.
  • With the support of Riverside leadership develop a field study or capstone project and present it to the CLAS Champions program.
  • Have the opportunity to work with one of Forbes best places to work in MA
  • Receive course or internship credit.
  • Additional tasks that may arise.

Please note that this internship is unpaid.

Schedule: Remote; 16-24 hours per week starting Fall 2025

Skills and Qualifications

  • We are seeking a student currently enrolled in a Masters Degree program pursuing a degree in Social Work Public Health Social Justice Psychology or a related field.
  • Strong writing and communication skills are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 including Word SharePoint Teams and PowerPoint software.
  • Consistent access to a computer with a reliable internet connection
  • Experience with behavioral health or community health organizations preferred.
