Overview
Under minimal supervision performs routine and specialized mammographic procedures. Leads clinical and ancillary Radiography staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Key Responsibility 1: Executes clinical competence in mammography. Selects accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient.
- Applies knowledge of mammographic principles and practices including anatomy and physiology radiation safety physics and patient positioning and patient care skills. Adheres to Joint Commission State Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
- Assumes responsibility for equipment quality control ensures successful annual MQSA inspections and ACR accreditation.
- Actively participates and takes a leadership role in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows patient experience and quality. Participates as a clinical competency evaluator for students and/or a preceptor for employee training and educational activities.
- Actively participates in the Clinical Ladder Program if implemented at the individual System hospital/location meeting and maintaining all Program standards and requirements.
- Key Responsibility 2: Leads clinical and ancillary staff of the Mammography Department and facilitates a productive workflow for efficient department operations. Maintains inventory of departmental supplies.
- Key Responsibility 3: Performs quality assurance activities. Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions and assures proper follow-up correction by repair services. Resolves clinical/non-clinical issues and escalates problems to the appropriate leadership.
- Key Responsibility 4: Provides feedback on staffs performance trains and orients personnel in procedures equipment and information systems. Collaborates with department leadership to plan implement and evaluate budgetary functions staff scheduling and educational activities. Actively participates in coaching/mentoring staff in all aspects of job performance.
- Key Responsibility 5: Oversees documentation of patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
Qualifications :
Education
- Associate Degree or Certificate in radiologic technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of Mammography experience with 2 years in specialized interventional procedures
Licensures/Certifications
- Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (M)
- Licensed Radiographer - State of MD
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
Education
- Bachelor degree in health sciences or related field

Pay Range: $31.78-$44.5
