The Job:

We are seeking a highly motivated skilled and experienced litigation attorney to join our Global Legal Team as Corporate Counsel Litigation. Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel Litigation the candidate will play a crucial role in driving and executing litigation strategies in support of the Companys business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a well-balanced and diverse background experienced in all aspects of litigation from initial pleadings discovery motion practice to settlement negotiations and trial. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills sound judgment and ability to manage complex legal issues globally.

As a Corporate Counsel-Litigation youll be part of our Global Legal team working as a hybrid employee. Youll get to:

  • Assist in the management of the Companys global litigation docket including commercial disputes product liability intellectual property and labor and employment matters.
  • Advise senior management on ongoing litigation matters.
  • Provide excellent and strategic customer service to internal stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with teams inside and outside the Legal Department including Finance Treasury Risk Management Supply Chain and Engineering.
  • Engage and manage outside counsel and other external legal service providers across the globe.
  • Ongoing assessment and improvement of various processes related to e-discovery legal holds and subpoenas to ensure best-in-class practices are implemented.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and policies to protect the Companys interests.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in laws and regulations that may impact the Companys operations.
  • Develop and deliver relevant training and guidance to internal stakeholders.

The Person:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and current admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 6 - 8 years of litigation experience ideally with some experience working in-house for a publicly traded U.S. company.
  • Experienced handling all aspects of various types of litigation matters including commercial IP product liability and labor and employment cases.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to effectively and timely handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Significant experience selecting and managing outside counsel and other legal services providers.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Unquestionably high ethical standards and integrity
  • Travel approximately 20% (trials/mediations etc)

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is $131200- $262400 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position offered.
