About the role

Were introducing the Regional Content Lead for Southeast Asia role to drive the success of content in key focus regions. Content moves Canva and ensuring our content feels local on-trend fresh and relevant is crucial. Just as we invest in strong business marketing sales and product leaders in our priority markets we need an equally strong voice in content.

As Regional Content Lead youll be responsible for ensuring Canva has the right content from your region championing local trends and ensuring our discovery systems surface the best content for local users. Youll work closely with country teams central Content & Discovery (C&D) teams and other regional stakeholders to amplify the impact of local content.

What youll be doing in this role 

  • Create locally relevant high-quality content. Ensure content reflects SEA culture trends and seasonal moments partnering with local creators and teams to keep it fresh timely and on-brand.
  • Improve content discoverability in SEA. Work with SEO and discovery teams to ensure the right local content surfaces in search homepage and key touchpoints for SEA users.
  • Grow and support the SEA Creator Community. Build strong relationships with local creators and editors to scale high-quality content and spotlight top-performing regional work.
  • Shape the SEA content strategy through local insight & strategic content partnerships. Stay close to market needs user behavior and trends to guide content strategy while forging partnerships that unlock new content opportunities across SEA.
  • Own budget for SEA. You will manage and deploy SEA regional content budget aligning with global priorities while tailoring investments to regional needs.
  • Editorial & Trends Leadership Oversee editorial surfaces (e.g. showcases) and collaborate with marketing to highlight content moments.

  • You have a deep understanding of content trends and aesthetics in your region with a strong sense of what resonates with local users.
  • You bring strong experience in content strategy partnerships or editorial leadershipideally within tech digital or media industries.
  • You take a proactive solutions-driven approach and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • You excel at stakeholder management and know how to align cross-functional teams across regions.
  • You thrive in fast-paced dynamic environments and are comfortable navigating ambiguity and change.
  • You use strong analytical skills to assess content performance and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • You have a proven track record of managing content budgets partnerships and production workflows effectively.
  • Youre passionate about supporting and activating local creators helping to build a thriving content ecosystem.

This role is ideal for content leaders with deep regional insight strategic vision and strong executional craft. You understand what resonates with audiences across Southeast Asia and know how to turn those insights into impactful discoverable content. Youre energized by fast-paced cross-functional environments and thrive on building meaningful relationships with creators and collaborators alike.
