Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager WIL Services this position will seek and connect with external partners as well as advise on the development of new programs products and services to execute a comprehensive talent acquisition and employer relations strategy. Operating locally nationally and internationally with a focus on net revenue generation this position will carry out activities to build maintain and renew employer relationships in support of Bow Valley Colleges commitment to graduate employment work-integrated learning and meeting the talent acquisition needs of industry partners.
Position responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Business Development
- Identifies develops manages and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders: for-profit organizations community organizations economic development entities chambers of commerce financial institutions governmental agencies etc.
- Researches and makes decisions about opportunities to monetize relationships and generate revenues including the development of new products and services.
- Develops new partnerships that broaden strategic partnership opportunities in support of the Colleges strategic plan.
- Negotiates and drafts MOUs contracts and agreements with external stakeholders.
- Partners with College stakeholders to create and execute external employer engagement strategies and business ideas.
- Develops business case for new initiatives.
- Grows and enhances Bow Valley Colleges value proposition with business and community.
- Researches analyzes and reports on emerging trends and issues in the marketplace and makes business development recommendations based on those trends.
- Qualifies potential clients designs marketing materials and collaterals creates partnership agreements and proposals and takes action to respond to these proposals.
- Maintains memberships in organizations and sits on external advisory committees or boards that support strategic plan goals.
- Drives the onboarding efforts of new industry partners by understanding business objectives needs and gaps and develops detailed deliverables.
- Develops and implements communication plans with accompanying collateral to support Employer Relations strategy and plan.
- Develops strategies annual business plans and budgets for activities supporting Employer Relations targets and goals.
- Analyses data and creates executive summaries for the Manager Employer Relations and Director Strategic Partnerships.
- Prepares activity reports and tracks new opportunities within the governance of the college CRM.
Strategy/Employer Relationship building
- Builds strong relationships with employers to identify their talent acquisition needs.
- Designs and executes recruitment strategies to provide talent acquisition solutions for industry partners (locally regionally nationally and globally).
- Responsible for the overall recruitment lifecycle for employers including posting positions on internal and external websites reviewing resumes assessing candidates creating interview guides and selection procedures shortlisting and interviewing candidates coordinating reference checks and presenting and processing employment offers to successful candidates.
- Builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure a viable talent pool.
- Identifies best fits for employment solutions (students and graduates)
- Identifies equitable diverse and inclusive job opportunities for students and graduates
- Identifies and develops virtual employment opportunities for students and graduates
- Utilizes technology and social media to recruit new employers and maintain relationships with existing employers
- Develops talent acquisition proposals for our industry partners
- Negotiates offers of employment with the organizations and the candidates
- Creates a talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs of industry partners.
- Enhances the reputation of Bow Valley College as a source of qualified and job-ready talent
- Tracks recruiting statistics analyses data and prepares periodic summary reports for the Manager Employer Relations or Director Strategic Partnerships
Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
- Researches the market to identify strategic relationships to support Work Integrated Learning objectives and targets
- Develops and implements strategies to ensure WIL opportunities for Bow Valley College students
- Develops new relationships with employers and closes partnership agreements to ensure we meet our work-integrated learning goals and targets
- Manages the relationship with Career Services to identify WIL gaps and needs
- Develops and implements appropriate quality controls and information management guidelines for outreach efforts with employers recruiters and potential WIL hosts
- Creates professional documents and resources to showcase WIL opportunities at BVC
- Analyses Power BI report to track and create WIL reports
Required qualifications:
- Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience working with industry and community partners in Talent Acquisition Human resources and/or Business Development fields
- Strong relationship-building and teamwork skills and highly collaborative
- Ability to strategize and plan multiple high-priority deliverables with competing demands
- Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) across multiple levels of the organization
- Knowledge of career development theory and ability to apply career concepts to communications resources and materials
- Ability to quickly produce and distribute quality thoughtful creative and engaging content
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and databases
- Ability to travel
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
