Job Description
The University of Alaska Human Resources department seeks a talented and meticulous HR Accountant to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes. Youll be part of a collaborative team dedicated to maintaining our institutions financial health and integrity.
Were looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail strong analytical skills and a knack for process improvement. If you have experience with advanced database reporting tools a solid understanding of GAAP and the ability to communicate financial information this position is perfect for you. To excel in this role candidates must possess advanced knowledge of accounting theory and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is essential. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel and intermediate knowledge of MS Access or other database reporting tools is required. Experience with automated accounting systems strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities are also necessary. Candidates should be able to prioritize workload independently meet deadlines under stressful situations and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Statistics or a related field or equivalent experience with at least three years of progressively responsible professional fiscal expertise.
Position Details:
This is a full-time non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary andfull employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options annual leave 12 paid holidays per year tuition waivers for employees and family members and affordable medical dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on theUA Staff Salary Schedule Grade 78 based on education and experience.
