Job Description: The person in this position will assist the director in coordinating all aspects of the departments athletic communications office including but not limited to statistical record-keeping website maintenance social media coordination video webcasting services photo/video editing media relations award nominations staff/student-athlete profiles and special event coordination.

Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development and implementation of an athletics communications plan and serves as primary liaison between athletics staff student-athletes and media outlets for assigned sports.
- Produces electronic and printed content to promote the departments athletics programs student-athletes home athletic events fundraising and community service initiatives and recruiting materials.
- Oversees and provides regular and engaging content for all athletically-related social media platforms including post-game interviews video highlight packages photographs and information graphics.
- Updates and maintains athletics website and record books while submitting statistics and team results in accordance with guidelines set by NCAA conference and affiliated organizations.
- Promotes individual student-athletes for awards and honors and nominates the university as a whole for various athletic academic and miscellaneous awards and honors.
- Provides direct support for special athletic events including end-of-year athletics banquet golf outing Hall of Fame and other events.
- Participates in the hiring training supervising and managing payroll for student employees assigned to work in the athletics communications office.
- Contributes to the overall success of the Athletics Department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities may include event management facility supervision assigned administrative tasks committee work or representing the Athletics Department at conferences/meetings.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in athletic communications sports management or related field from accredited college or university is required.
Masters degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Previous work-related skill knowledge or experience is required with prior experience in athletics or related field strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership vision personnel and management skills.
Skills:
- Computer competency required. Experience with Stat Crew software Adobe Creative Suite SIDEARM Sports content management system various social media platforms video webcasting services and video editing programs strongly preferred.
- Basic photography skills and photo editing knowledge strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational communication and leadership skills whether dealing with individuals or groups and an ability to work well with different constituents.
- Strong initiative detail and follow-up skills with student-athletes staff members and administration.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to set and achieve or exceed goals and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on multiple projects under time constraints.
- Ability to learn and apply University policies and procedures to ensure operational compliance and reliable judgement.
- General computer knowledge with a proficiency in Word and Excel.
Special Requirements:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel for games expected.
- Evening and weekend availability is required.
- Flexibility with an evolving work environment is important.
- Valid drivers license required.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check motor vehicle check and drug test.
- Current CPR AED and first aid certifications required. Training and recertification can be provided if necessary.
- Compliance with NCAA Division III rules and regulations required.
- Compliance with athletic conference rules and regulations required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move about campus and other locations.
- Physical ability to include standing and/or walking for long periods bending kneeling and stooping manual dexterity and ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the thoroughness of the work assigned that allows for independent and accurate recording of statistics for all sponsored sports in a variety of athletic venues (student athletes in active game play indoors and outdoors).
